Lumina San Isidro is a metaphor for the new reality and future of a new way of working.

Its more than 42,000 sqm of carpet area are set on a four-hectare site, surrounded on its perimeter by mature native trees that were preserved in their entirety — and this is in itself the guiding concept: to compact two buildings at the heart of the site so that users can enjoy 25,000 sqm of green areas.

Both modules are connected through a central atrium, the project’s great differentiator. This atrium, spanning more than 2,000 sqm — the largest built in the country and in South America in terms of office buildings — functions as an integrating interstitial space in terms of climate and social exchange. It is a space that promotes communication and interaction among people, or simply the contemplation of nature, both within — through its interior trees — and without, through its vast green spaces and surrounding trees. Its roof, designed by the firm with structural engineering developed in Switzerland, maximizes natural light for climate regulation, and will house retail spaces serving the needs of occupants — a restaurant and a café — as well as two 300 sqm multipurpose spaces that can be converted into auditoriums depending on requirements.

In pursuit of appropriate use and consumption of natural resources, rainwater harvesting methods are employed for the irrigation of interior and exterior vegetation, natural light is maximized throughout the main lobby, and solar collectors and photovoltaic cells are also utilized. In keeping with this approach, a dry plaza is developed on the exterior, and dedicated spaces are allocated for bicycle parking. These techniques, among others, are what allow Lumina San Isidro to hold a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) GOLD certification, reflecting the firm’s ongoing commitment to the development of more sustainable buildings.

The overall concept of Lumina San Isidro is a new generation of offices — one that synthesizes and conceptualizes what has happened and continues to happen in the world. Its design goes beyond architecture, seeking the quality of life that all human beings desire. This concept reverses the extreme ideology of remote work, which risks reducing people to a conceptual regression — a technological Neanderthal in pajamas. On the contrary, this building invites people to reconnect with life and with one another. Its scale will allow companies to provide their collaborators with comfort and a sense of belonging, within an environment of wellbeing, nature, and human interaction.
