The headquarters of the Sociedad Mixta Siderúrgica Argentina, on the corner of Belgrano and Diagonal Roca avenues, was the first building erected in Argentina entirely in steel, and the first in the world constructed completely with folded sheet metal. Its structural elements, floors, exterior enclosures, and interior partitions are entirely made of the indicated material, of which S.O.M.I.S.A. was the main producer. A true technological and architectural revolution in the country, which was developed by our studio following the awarding of the First Prize in the National Competition.

The perimeter steel structure eliminates the need for interior columns, providing the always-desired flexibility in this building consisting of seven basements and fourteen floors designed for administrative, public, or executive tasks. The Ground Floor and the first basement were designed for public functions, with areas for exhibitions, conferences, cafeteria, and others; between the 1st and 10th floors, administrative and executive tasks are carried out, with Sales, Purchasing, Finance, Management, Presidency, and Board Departments; in the remaining basements (from the 2nd to the 7th) are the parking lots, warehouses, maintenance rooms, and other service areas.

Constructively, the work is divided into two: one part is buried to a depth of 24 meters and built in reinforced concrete; while the upper part is a metal structure with all its components made up of prefabricated elements and assembled dry.
