A project born from the transformation of the old Volcán factory, giving rise not only to an architectural project but also to an urban planning initiative that will have a strong influence on the area where it is situated.

Terrazas Volcán is a large-scale building with a rationalist character and a clear structural grid, owing to its structure, which reflects an advancement in the building’s functional scheme.

The studio proposed transforming it into a residential complex with a commercial podium on Av. Cobo and over 400 apartment units of 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms, along with offices, parking, and amenities such as multipurpose rooms, game rooms, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, an aerobic track, gym, solarium, and barbecue areas, among others.

A large volume of no heritage value that occupied the centre of the building was removed, creating a large courtyard that opens up ventilation toward the urban space.

A project premised on revitalising the city’s southern zone and valuing its heritage, while respecting the industrial identity of the original building.
