The project arises from the logistical need of the Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA) to consolidate its functions in a single space. Despite its appearance as a single unified building volume, “La Rural” is two buildings in one.

On one side is the Sociedad Rural Argentina area, with its own lobby and vertical circulation generated across the largest possible footprint. This creates a podium of 950 sqm that strategically seeks minimal vertical movement for administrative functions and laboratories, distributed across two levels. For the hierarchical executive areas, which require less floor space, two floors of the emerging volume were allocated, totalling 580 sqm.

The entire SRA complex converges at the same time on a green area — a 700 sqm garden terrace atop the podium — which acts as a common thread binding the institution’s range of functions together, generating quality of life for its users.

On the other side, the remaining 8,320 sqm of the building are designated for the leasing of office carpet area across full or partitioned floors, whose target occupants are, without doubt, individuals or companies connected to the rural sector. The “La Rural” building thus becomes the key piece — the link between the Fairgrounds and the SRA institution — closing, in essence, a virtuous circle.

Regarding formal design, an iconic image is created where the SRA, in the podium, embraces a sharp and imposing piece clearly representing the countryside: “El Arado” — the plough — that breaks open the earth and the future.
